North Judson officials have chosen the most expensive option for a park planning consultant. The town council Tuesday chose the Troyer Group to help put together a five-year park master plan. Troyer submitted the highest of the three quotes the town received at almost $20,000, about $4,000 more than the lowest one.
Council Vice President Josh Brown said that after reviewing the proposals, the consensus among park board and council members was that Troyer would be the best option. “They were not the cheapest, but we thought that for what we were getting and for what they could do for us in their proposal, why, we thought we’d get the best job out of them,” Brown explained. “In a nutshell, that’s what it was.”
Having a current master plan makes the town’s park board eligible for Land and Water Conservation Fund matching grants and other funding opportunities.
