The Knox City Council will meet tonight where a public hearing will be held on the Master Utility Plan.
The council intends to apply to the Indiana Office of Community Rural Affairs for a grant from the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Planning program. These funds will be used for a community development planning project that will include the development of the Master Utility Plan.
The total amount of the CDBG funds to be requested is $90,000. The amount of CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low and moderate income citizens is $49,311. The application also proposes to expend an estimated $10,000 in non-CDBG funds on the project.
The council is giving the community an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federally funded CDBG project tonight in a public hearing.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Knox City Hall.
