The North Judson Town Council is considering adding another mural to the downtown area.
Kimberly Kapp, who recently bought property at Lane and Sycamore Streets in North Judson, presented the idea to the council and offered a building as the site to choose. North Judson Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe said the building has an area that is already painted white and if chosen, would be a great addition to the other works of art around town.
Rowe said, “We’ve got the sidewalk mural, we’ve got a mural right across from Wooden Nickel and then we’ve got our crane and otter. Potentially we would have four either works of art or murals within a three or four block radius if you are traveling into town heading to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum. So, it’s an exciting prospect knowing that we’ve got all these other bits of color and expression going up around town that have gone up over the past few years. To potentially add to that was a neat thing to hear.”
Kapp, who is an employee with the utility department in North Judson, will continue to hold events at the potential site specifically the Harvest Hustle that a non-profit organization puts on in that building. A time table has not been set but discussions have started on seeing what funding could be available.
