The Knox Community School Board approved the service agreement with North Central Career and Technical Education last week.
Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart noted that Jennifer Felke will be the new CTE Director.
He stated, “She has been very good about trying to pull together the loose ends that we haven’t had in the past. Part of this process by what we should have been doing in the past was having these service agreements between each of our school corporations that are part of the CTE, so we are one of nine. This is to formalize that process to make sure fees are paid. It also includes SCILL will have to do one as well. I think you are all aware that we do aviation in Plymouth so they will have to do a service agreement as well.”
High School Principal Glenn Barnes said that last year there were three students that took part in the Aviation program. He added they have one student who will start his second year of the program this year.
Dr. Reichhart said the service agreement is something the school must do because their insurance company through CTE requires it. He added that new CTE Director Jennifer Felke has been a great help in transitioning from the previous director.
