North Judson-San Pierre School Board Approves JESSE Service Agreement

The North Judson-San Pierre School Board recently approved the Joint Educational Services in Special Education (JESSE) service agreement.

The approved agreement lays out a shared service for students with the Knox Community School Corporation and the Oregon-Davis School Corporation for Special Education.

North Judson-San Pierre School Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin added that this agreement allows for efficiency of services and funds.

JESSE is a Special Education Cooperative in North Central Indiana and was originally organized as a local cooperative in 1975. The Plymouth Community School Corporation serves as the administering corporation for JESSE and acts as the administrative and fiscal agent for the co-op.

There are approximately 70 special education classes and resource programs in over 30 area schools throughout the cooperative.  The student base population for the cooperative school corporations is approximately 14,000.  The co-op serves over 1,750 students with disabilities.
