Starke County Highway Superintendent Dan Dipert addressed the Starke County Commissioners this week about the need for an additional semi truck.
Dipert said they have been looking for one for some time and have found a semi for sale in Lafayette.
Dipert stated, “It’s a 2014 that’s got 400,000 miles on it. We went down and test drove that semi. We would like to purchase that.”
Dipert said the semi has passed a DOT inspection so there are no surprises if the commissioners where to move forward. He added they are struggling with the two semis they currently have and that an additional semi would help with the work load.
Once Dipert reaches out to three different semi truck vendors to receive quotes or bids then an approval for the purchase can be made by the commissioners.
