The Knox City Council adopted the 2023 budget during their meeting Tuesday night.
The council held a public hearing on the proposed budget on September 13. At that meeting, the council opened the floor for public comment with no comments made.
According to the notice on the Indiana Gateway website, the total budget request is about $3.3 million with about $1.6 million in the General Fund, $50,000 in Local Road and Street, about $440,000 in the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund, and almost $167,000 in the Park and Recreation Fund with other special funds included.
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok opened the floor for a motion to approve the budget. A motion was made and seconded. The vote was unanimous and the 2023 budget was adopted.
