Oregon-Davis School Corporation Installing Active Alert System

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation will be one of the first schools in Northern Indiana to install an active alert system.

Oregon-Davis School Superintendent Bill Bennett announced the active alert system is called CENTEGIX. Staff members will be equipped with a lanyard that will give the option to alert the school resource officer, building principal or nurse.  He noted that the system will also have other features.

“In the event if we had a serious incident where we needed to directly talk with 911, they would hit the button multiple times and that would alert 911 and initiate a lockdown for the schools,” stated Bennett.

He went on to say the corporation hopes to have the system in place at the first of next year.

The CENTEGIX system will support medical emergencies, student altercations, unauthorized visitors, suspicious activity, and similar situations.
