The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce announced the selection of Douglas Denton, of Monterey, as the 2022 H.J. Halleck Community Service Award recipient.
Every year the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce awards the H.J. Halleck Community Service Award to one deserving individual.
In order to recognize such outstanding individuals, the award recipient must be a resident of Pulaski County, and have an identifiable and successful record of service to the community in a variety of public service endeavors. The recipient of this award will be honored at the Annual H.J. Halleck Award Recognition Banquet.
Denton is the owner and operator of Denton & Son Building Supplies. He has been President of the Monterey Town Board for seven years. He has also been the President of the Monterey Lions Club for 17 years and a member for 19.
Chamber officials say Denton created the first neighborhood watch in Pulaski County for the town of Monterey. He has also been involved with the Monterey Days Festival Board as President for several years. He was Vice President of the Emergency Management Board of Pulaski County as well as a member of the Pulaski County Community Development Committee for seven years.
