Pulaski County Elected Officials Learn about Economic Development

Ten Pulaski County current and potential elected officials made time to learn about economic development at a workshop provided by the Community Foundation of Pulaski County’s Forward Thinking Leadership initiative.

David Terrell, Executive Director of the Indiana Communities Institute and RUPRI Center for State & Local Policy at Ball State University presented the training titled Basic Economic Development. He addressed the history of economic development, historical trends, strengths and weaknesses of different approaches, how economic and social trends affect approaches, and data on remote work in Indiana and Pulaski County.

The Forward Thinking Leadership Initiative launched in 2020 in response to community input and with support from Lilly Endowment Inc. and the Community Foundation of Pulaski County. The initiative has provided opportunities for the community to grow its leadership strengths and focus on investing in community action for the future good of Pulaski County.
