Pulaski County EMS Director Looking at Ways to Retain Employees

The Pulaski County Council and Commissioners heard from Pulaski County EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo about a paramedic training reimbursement program during their recent meeting.

DeLorenzo informed the council and commissioners on an opportunity to help the county retain EMS personnel. He said he would like to start a retention program where the EMS department would sign hopeful applicants to a two-year contract. He added during that two years the employees would go through proper schooling and training to become certified. He said the hope is the county would like to pay for that if they are interested. He said this could potentially attract more people to apply for available EMS positions.

The council and commissioners took the EMS Director’s report under advisement and stated they will discuss this further at a future meeting.
