Pulaski County Workforce and Residents Asked to Provide Housing Input

The Community Foundation of Pulaski County, in conjunction with the Community Development Commission, announced the county can absorb up to 445 new housing units over the next five years. This is according to a recently released market potential analysis commissioned by the Foundation and Commission.

Pulaski County residents and those who work in the county are asked to provide input about their housing dreams. This is to help shape the development of the housing program community leaders are creating. Submit input by visiting www.yourhousingresource.org/pulaski

While on the website, individuals can learn more about the housing strategy, view the housing market potential results and share housing dreams, preferences and ideas for the county-wide initiative.

The market potential analysis shows a wide range of housing types that are needed to respond to the 600-plus households who are looking for housing options throughout the county every year. Seventy-five percent of those are millennials.

This data is a key component of a housing strategy that is being developed by the Housing Resource Hub under the direction of the Pulaski County Housing Task Force.

The task force will now begin the work of developing partnerships and programs to support implementation of the housing strategy.  The next step planned includes engaging with Pulaski County employers, builders, banks, lenders and realtors who want to be a part of the implementation plan for the housing strategy.
