The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) presented information to the West Central School Board during the board’s meeting last week.
West Central School Corporation Superintendent Dr. Cathy Rowe told WKVI News the FCCLA students qualified to go to Nationals. She added during the presentation, students explained to the board the projects that qualified them to go to the FCCLA National Event.
The FCCLA is a national career and technical student organization for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education within public and private schools. FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. The FCCLA motto is to promote personal growth and leadership development through FCS education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
Dr. Rowe said the presentation was full of positive feedback from the trip and the students gained important life skills.
