The Oregon-Davis School Board heard an update on the new active alert system being installed for staff use during their meeting Monday.
Oregon-Davis School Superintendent Bill Bennett announced the active alert system, CENTEGIX is on schedule to be up and running by the new year.
In a previous meeting, Bennett explained staff members will be equipped with a lanyard that will give the option to alert the school resource officer, building principal or nurse. He noted that in the event of a serious incident, a staff member would be able to alert 911 and initiate a lockdown for the schools all from the lanyard around their neck.
The CENTEGIX system will support medical emergencies, student altercations, unauthorized visitors, suspicious activity, and similar situations.
