The Town of Winamac and the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation (EPSC) teamed up to add a School Resource Officer.
Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers told WKVI News the Winamac Police Department has wanted to put a School Resource Officer at the EPSC with the cost split between the town and the school. The idea came up during a Winamac Town Council meeting this past June.
Winamac Chief of Police Tyler Campbell was at the recent Town Council meeting to announce Ryan Austin as the new EPSC Resource Officer. The council approved the appointment. Zellers told WKVI News the council was glad they were able to make school safety a priority and get something done.
