The Knox School Board was scheduled to approve withdrawing from the JESSE cooperative during their meeting Monday.
The Knox Community School Corporation is a participating school within the cooperative, as well as Argos Community Schools, John Glenn School Corporation, Culver Community School Corporation, North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation, Oregon-Davis School Corporation, Plymouth Community School Corporation, Triton School Corporation and the Union-North United School Corporation.
Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart told WKVI News, legal council has advised the cooperative must be unanimously voted upon by each school to dissolve. He added the vote came down to eight schools voting yes and one school voting no. Due to the vote not being unanimous, Dr. Reichhart said there is another meeting scheduled tomorrow in Plymouth to discuss further options moving forward.
During the Knox School Board meeting Tuesday, a motion was made to table the withdraw from the cooperative. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
