City of Knox to be Reimbursed for City Court Costs

The Knox City Council approved the interlocal agreement with Starke County involving Knox City Court during their meeting last week.

Both city and county attorneys have confirmed the agreement involves the county reimbursing the city for the costs of Knox City Court bi-annually.

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok thanked the county and city attorneys, as well as Knox City Court Judge Charles Hasnerl, Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall, the Starke County Commissioners and Starke County Council for coming together and finding a solution.

Mayor Estok entertained a motion to approve the agreement with was made and the motion was unanimously approved.

Following approval, Mayor Estok entertained a motion to rescind the second reading of the ordinance abolishing Knox City Court. A motion was made and seconded and unanimously approved.
