The Knox Board of Works were updated on the total costs for the 18 South Main Street demolition during their meeting Wednesday.
Director of Building, Planning and Code Compliance Kenny Pfost said the total amount for the property to be cleaned up including the $5,000 civil penalty issued last month, makes the total of $24,615.95 the city is owed.
Pfost said the owner of 18 South Main Street has not paid the civil penalty issued. He added the owner is still within the 30 days of the order to make the payment. Pfost said if the owner does not pay the $5,000 penalty, the city would then move forward with a special assessment.
