The Pulaski County Commissioners had discussions on the Opioid Settlement funds received during their meeting Tuesday.
Commissioner Chuck Mellon made a motion to invest funding received from the Opioid Settlement both restricted and unrestricted into a six month investment CD. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
In a previous story, it was announced Pulaski County would be receiving $387,751.20 from defendants McKesson, Amerisource, and Cardinal Health over an 18 year period, and $90,927.29 from Johnson and Johnson over a 7 year period. About $30,000 of that went toward attorney fees to Cohen and Malad.
Commissioner Mellon stated having this money invested for a six month period at four percent interest gives the county more time to decide on what they would like to do with the settlement monies.
