The Starke County Commissioners reorganized their board a second time on Tuesday.
The floor was opened for nominations to appoint a new county commission board president. Commissioner Don Binkley nominated Charles Chesak with no other nominations made. The commissioners voted to appoint Charles Chesak as board president. Both Binkley and Chesak’s votes carried the nomination making Charles Chesak board president.
Commissioner Mark Gourley was then nominated and appointed as vice president. The commissioners then noted Don Binkley will still be the county commission secretary.
Additionally, the commissioners reinstated the county’s IT Director. The IT Director was placed on administrative paid leave in September 2022 as an investigation was underway. No information on what came of the investigation was mentioned. The IT Director was reinstated in early December.
