The Knox City Council honored three volunteer firemen during their meeting last week.
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok awarded Floyd Burton a 38 year volunteer, Steve Berndt a 33 year volunteer and Bob Cole 22 year volunteer with personalized plaques commemorating their service to the community.
Mayor Estok stated these men are a special part of the city and the community owes them a great deal of gratitude. It was noted volunteer firemen are hard to come by and for someone to volunteer that much time to their community speaks volumes to their individual character.
Mr. Burton, Mr. Berndt and Mr. Cole all thanked the council and appreciated the acknowledgment from them.
