The Winamac Town Council held a public hearing during their meeting Monday.
The hearing was held to discuss a tax abatement for Standard Properties, Inc. Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers told WKVI News the floor was opened to the public for comment and discussion with no comments made. The public hearing was closed and the council moved forward in approving the tax abatement.
Zellers told WKVI News the tax abatement would be for a duration of 10 years. Standard Properties, Inc. is expected to break ground on a new facility some time in the near future. The tax abatement was approved by the council.
