Friends of the Panhandle Pathway recently received a grant for $1,800 from the Wildlife Conservation and Education of Pulaski County Fund through the Community Foundation of Pulaski County.
This grant for seeding a new prairie section along the trail is intended to move Pulaski County toward its aspiration of becoming a community that is thriving and growing.
Leaders at the Friends of the Panhandle Pathway announced the winning grant from the Community Foundation for expansion of its prairie just in time for the annual meeting.
The good news comes after volunteers cleared trees and brush from the area last fall. The Friends of the Panhandle Pathway hopes that trail users will enjoy the beauty of the prairie area and support continued efforts to enhance and maintain the Panhandle Pathway.
