The Knox Board of Works heard from Director of Building, Planning and Code Compliance Kenny Pfost during their meeting last week.
It was announced in January that Pfost had been hired as a detective for the Knox City Police Department. City officials conducted interviews for position throughout January and announced earlier this month they had made their decision.
Lonnie Boley was hired to be the new Director of Building, Planning and Code Compliance. Pfost was at the meeting to introduce Mr. Boley. He mentioned Boley’s first day was last Tuesday. Pfost has been working at the police department while helping with the transition between him and Boley go smoothly.
As director, Boley will be responsible for all residential and commercial plan reviews and will coordinate all reviews referred to outside consultants. Boley will also oversee on-site inspections of footing, foundation, framing, electrical, mechanical and related inspections of both new and existing buildings for compliance with approved plans and applicable code regulations.
