Elected officials in Pulaski County learned about budgeting and financial basics at a recent training provided by the Community Foundation of Pulaski County’s Forward Thinking Leadership Initiative.
Pam Coleman, Director of Finance and Corporate Relations with the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) returned for a second year to present the information. She addressed the budget calendar, budget terms and acronyms, how the county receives funding and how county offices work together in the budget cycle.
Ken Boswell, Jerry Locke, Jeff Richwine, Laura Wheeler along with Chris Schramm and Leeann Wright attended the training. A survey of elected officials in 2021 identified training priorities. The number one topic was budgeting and finance basics. Three different workshops were offered to officials in 2023 at no charge through the CFPC Forward Leadership Initiative.
