Starke County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Adam Behnke was recently recognized by Sheriff Jack Rosa for his efforts during a recent medical call.
Starke County Sheriff’s Department deputies, along with Starke County EMS and the San Pierre Fire Department responded to a residence in San Pierre Wednesday, January 25in reference to a 911 call concerning an elderly male that was barely breathing.
Starke County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Adam Behnke was credited with being instrumental in preserving the scene, relaying important information and calming the family in the traumatic situation.
Starke County Sheriff Jack Rosa said last week’s 911 call in particular was traumatic for the family involved. He stated he was truly sorry for their loss. Rosa said as Sheriff, his values are the deputies being community servants first, among their many other roles and duties. He said he feels it is imperative Starke County deputies feel appreciated and valued.
In a press release statement Rosa said, “I am proud of Deputy Behnke and his ability to deliver exceptional service by further aiding medics and fire personnel. Deputy Behnke’s compassion for the family in a traumatic situation is truly appreciated. Deputy Behnke, you have displayed the core values of this department and law enforcement in general and I would like to thank you for your service to the community.”
