Starke County Commissioners Approve Mutual Settlement Agreement

The Starke County Commissioners discussed their mutual settlement agreement with Sysco during their meeting last week.

The agreement noted the Board of Commissioners of Starke County filed a civil action in November of 2020 against Sysco, alleging breach of contract and unjust enrichment arising out of a memorandum of understanding contract for certain real estate commonly referred to as the Hamlet West property.

The commissioners announced the settlement was in the amount of $675,000. The agreement stated the settlement payment must be received no later than Thursday, March 2 and pursuant to the full execution of the agreement.

The commissioners approved the mutual settlement agreement unanimously by vote.
