The Knox City Council adopted a resolution Tuesday night to mandate all city employees and elected officials to be payed via direct deposit.
City of Knox Clerk-Treasurer Cyndi Kidder stated she had attended a conference recently where other cities had talked about the importance of direct deposit. She added direct deposit would completely get rid of paper checks. She also mentioned this will help with lost checks or checks written that never get cashed. She went on to say once this is all set up it will be much easier for employees and elected officials.
The council made a motion to adopt the resolution. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
