The Knox School Board approved an interim superintendent during their meeting Monday.
School Board President Kirk Bennett entertained a motion to approve an Administrator Assistant service agreement that would provide the corporation with an interim superintendent while they start their search to hire a full time superintendent. A motion was made and seconded. Before the vote, Bennett announced Ross Sloat as the individual that would be interim. Sloat said since he has arrived, he is very impressed with how hard the corporation works. He added, he knows the corporation has things to work on and is ready to help in anyway the board needs.
The board voted unanimously approving Sloat as interim superintendent. School Board President Bennett then entertained a motion to begin the process of hiring a new superintendent. He added this includes the posting of the position and collecting of applications and resumes for the board’s consideration. A motion was made and then seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the search for a new superintendent.
Bennett stated the board hopes to have a new superintendent in place by July 1 of this year.
