The Pulaski County Commissioners held a public hearing to establish the Cumulative Bridge Fund and the Cumulative Building Fund during their meeting Monday.
Commissioner Chuck Mellon stated the cumulative bridge and building funds will be provided for by a property tax rate of $0.0229 for the bridge fund and $0.0215 for the Cumulative Building Fund per one hundred dollars of taxable real and personal property within the taxing unit beginning in 2023 payable 2024 and thereafter, continuing until reduced or rescinded.
The commissioners opened the hearing for public comment with no comment made on either fund. The commissioners then made a motion to establish the Cumulative Bridge Fund and the Cumulative Building Fund. A motion was made then seconded. The commissioners approved both funds unanimously by vote.
A public notice sent from Pulaski County Auditor Laura Wheeler stated 25 or more taxpayers in the taxing unit who will be affected by the tax rate and corresponding levy may file a petition with the Pulaski County Auditor no later than 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 27 setting forth their objections to the proposed cumulative fund. Upon the filing of the petition, the County Auditor shall immediately certify the same to the Department of Local Government Finance, at which point the department will fix a date for and conduct a public hearing on the proposed cumulative fund before issuing its approval, disapproval, or modification thereof.
