The Pulaski County Commissioners approved the purchase of a battery back-up for the entire Justice Center during their meeting Monday.
It was brought to the attention of the commissioners last September by former Pulaski County Sheriff Jeff Richwine the only battery back-up on location keeps the 911 Call Center running during power outages. He added that service updates are a regular occurrence with the current battery back-up to make sure everything is running properly and it was suggested by the service center to purchase a battery back-up for the whole Justice Center. The commissioners took that report under advisement as Richwine stated he would return with quotes.
In a meeting this past November the commissioners were given quotes for the battery back-up to review. They took those quotes under advisement.
During their meeting Monday, Commissioner Chuck Mellon announced the total amount for the battery back-up came in at $44,088.44. He added this back-up would be county wide. It was also noted ARPA Funds would be used if the commissioners were to approve the purchase. A motion was made and seconded. The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the purchase of a battery back-up using ARPA Funds.
