The Pulaski County Veterans Treatment Court joins the national celebration of National Drug Court Month in May.
The Pulaski County Veterans Treatment Court was recognized as the 100th problem solving court in the State in 2019 and continues to serve veterans from the local community and their families. The Pulaski County Veterans Treatment Court has provided services and support to over a dozen veterans and their families and has helped to reduce recidivism rates with this population to 33 percent, well below the average recidivism rate of approximately 70 percent among offenders not involved in problem solving court in Pulaski County.
Pulaski County Veterans Treatment Court joins in the Nation in celebrating and educating communities on the importance and benefits of Problem Solving Courts. The program just received the second certification for operation and also hosted the fourth graduation for Pulaski County Veterans Treatment Court.
The Pulaski County Veterans Treatment Court has been in operation since 2019 and has provided assistance to many veterans and their families to help them gain resources, support and develop skills to help them maintain their sobriety and mental health challenges that are linked to their time in service.
Over a million participants and their family members have been served by treatment courts. It is stated by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) that around $13,000 is saved for every treatment court participant.
These courts are designed to intensively engage the participant and the justice system together in order to make consistent and continual daily and weekly contact with the participant to provide support and encouragement when merited as well as accountability if participant are not making good choices.
