The Knox City Council heard from the Starke County Economic Development Foundation during their meeting Tuesday.
SCEDF Executive Director Lisa Dan and Executive Assistant Mary Perren announced Starke Tank will be held at the Knox High School on Sunday, August 20 at 3 p.m. CT. They formally asked the council to consider sponsoring the event this year. It was mentioned the city donated $1,000 to last year’s Starke Tank.
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok stated he didn’t want to speak for the entire board but mentioned raising the donation this year could be worth considering. A motion was made to donate $2,000 to SCEDF for the sponsorship of Starke Tank. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
