The Knox City Police Department is currently accepting applications for two full-time police officers.
Applications are available for pick up at Knox City Hall, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT. For an emailed copy, contact Police Chief Harold Smith at hsmith@cityofknox.net. Applications can be dropped off at Knox City Hall or mailed to the Knox City Police Department.
Qualifications for the job include being a resident citizen of the United States, must be 21 to 40 years of age and hold a valid Indiana Driver’s License. Applicants must also have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to pass a thorough background investigation. They must also submit to an oral interview. No illegal use of any type of drugs two years prior to applying and have never been convicted of domestic battery or felony charge. A dishonorable discharge from the military service shall disqualify the applicant.
Perf Retirement Non-ILEA Certified Applicants must be able to successfully complete a written exam and a physical assessment upon the offer of employment and assignment of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. The Knox City Police Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
