The Starke County Commissioners approved the appointment of a new Starke County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director during their meeting Monday.
The commissioners made a motion to appoint Jerry Smith to be the next EMS Director. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote. Smith will take over for former Starke County EMS Director Larry Brock. Brock was terminated by the commissioners on May 15.
Smith’s first official day was June 5.
