Pulaski County Commissioners Approve Economic Agreement with Bottlebrush Solar

The Pulaski County Commissioners discussed the Bottlebrush Solar project during their meeting Tuesday.

In a previous Pulaski County Council meeting, the council approved an Economic Development Agreement and tax abatement for the project. The project includes farm land in Beaver and Salem Townships just south of Francesville in Pulaski County. The project would be up to 200 megawatts in capacity which is similar to the previous solar project approved by the council. The total amount of acres to be used is estimated at 1,500 within the project fence.

The tax abatement is expected to result in an estimated property tax savings of over $10 million for Pulaski County. Bottlebrush Solar would provide $1 million each year to the county over a ten-year period.

Commissioner Chuck Mellon stated due to the council approving the agreement, the commissioners would need to vote on it as well. A motion was made to approve the Economic Development Agreement with Bottlebrush Solar. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
