The Starke County Park Board provided an update on the Bass Lake pier situation during their meeting this week.
In a previous story, DNR officials made the Starke County Park Board aware on issues with the north and south piers at Bass Lake. The DNR report stated the south pier along with parts of the north pier needed to be removed. At that time, the board decided to have the piers in question removed. In that meeting, the board announced they had submitted pictures to the DNR in order to show their compliance.
In the update Tuesday, it was announced the piers at Bass Lake are still under review with the DNR. At this time, the board said there is nothing more that can be done until final word is given from the DNR.
