The Winamac Town council heard an update on the Veterans Memorial Swinging Bridge during their meeting Monday.
Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers told WKVI News electric has been installed at the bridge and should be ready for the lighting ceremony planned next month. He added light bulbs were being put in place on the bridge this week.
The Veterans Memorial Swinging Bridge will be honored with a centennial celebration next month.
The celebration includes a re-dedication ceremony while honoring veterans and gold star families. The celebration will be held at the Winamac Town Park on Monday, July 3 starting at 4 p.m. ET.
Food vendors and live bands will be on hand while a youth baseball and softball game will be held at 5:30 p.m. A patriotic lighting ceremony will also be part of the festivities.
