Pulaski County Council Approves CDC Additional Appropriations

The Pulaski County Council discussed advertising an additional appropriation request from the Community Development Commission (CDC) during their meeting Monday.

Pulaski County CDC Executive Director Nathan Origer stated the additional appropriation of $200,000 is needed for professional services involving the courthouse project. Origer stated the process has not gone as quickly as expected to start the year. He announced a bond is expected to be issued soon to cover the cost but until that time he asked the council to approve the additional appropriation to keep the project moving forward.

Origer stated the county has incurred more courthouse cost pre bond issuance than they had expected back in February. He added if the council were not to approve the additional appropriation, the county would run out of money for the project causing it to come to a complete stop.

The council made a motion to advertise the additional appropriation of $200,000. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote. It was mentioned the additional appropriation will be taken out of the Economic Development Fund
