City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok announced he has spoken with the Indiana Housing Authority about Knox being considered for tax credits toward a housing development during last week’s city council meeting.
Mayor Estok stated this new housing development if awarded, would be 34 units for rent. He stated there will only be four counties designated tax credits by the Indiana Housing Authority. Mayor Estok went on to say they need to identify five to six acres that the Indiana Housing Authority would consider as an option. He stated the application does not need to be submitted until February of 2024.
It was noted the application is competitive due to only four counties being considered. Mayor Estok stated they hope to identify five to six acres near available water and sewer lines. He went on to say he will report to the council at a future meeting once they have identified a location.
