The Pulaski County Commissioners discussed approving an Economic Development Commission (EDC) appointment during their meeting last week.
Pulaski County Community Development Commission (CDC) Executive Director Nathan Origer told the commissioners under state statute, they are entitled to make one nomination for one of the three seats on the EDC board. Origer stated the Pulaski County Council had approved this appointment during their previous meeting and now the commissioners must approve the appointment as well. He added this appointment will be for a term that ends in January of 2026. He went on to formally ask the commissioners to nominate Blake Kasten for the seat.
It was noted Kasten is currently on the CDC board and has been particularly interested in the county’s revolving loan fund program which is one of the responsibilities the CDC board will pass off to the EDC board at the beginning of next year.
A motion was made to appoint Blake Kasten as a representative on the EDC board. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
