The Starke County Commissioners heard from Sheriff Jack Rosa during their meeting Tuesday.
Sheriff Rosa told the commissioners he would like to convert a position at the Sheriff’s Department and also update job titles and job descriptions during the meeting. He stated he would like to convert what is titled as a road sergeant to an operations commander. He went on to say he would like the commissioners to also consider approving updates to the dispatcher job title and descriptions.
It was announced a training coordinator and center training officer as well as a night shift captain would all be added to the dispatcher job title and job description. The commissioners looked over the proposed changes and made a motion to approve the conversion of a road sergeant to an operations commander as well updating the dispatcher job title and description. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
