The Starke County Commissioners discussed solar ordinance revisions during their meeting Monday.
In their previous meeting, Citizens Against Progressive Solar (C.A.P.S) representatives Roberta Lee and Alisha Rios proposed to the commissioners many revisions to the current solar ordinance in Starke County. It was mentioned a moratorium or even a cap on the amount of acreage allowed in Starke County is something C.A.P.S would be in favor of and hope the commissioners would consider. During that same meeting, the commissioners announced they would like to set up a joint session with the planning commission to go over the proposed revisions with C.A.P.S.
Commissioner Charles Chesak stated on Monday, the commissioners had not heard from the planning commission on an exact date they would meet. He added they still plan to hear the proposed changes from C.A.P.S with the planning commission once the date is set.
