The Starke County Council continued discussions on the Starke County Airport Authority 2024 budget during their meeting Monday.
In a previous meeting, the council held a public hearing where it was announced the budget for the Starke County Airport Authority totaled $1,862,941. The public hearing was opened to the public for comment with no comment given. The council however had several items to discuss during that meeting with the Starke County Airport Authority. It was noted the council would like to be more involved with how their money is being spent and what it does in efforts to help the Starke County Airport.
Starke County Council President Dave Pearman commented he would like to have a member from the Starke County Airport Authority report to the council on a regular basis. He added the council would like to be more involved with the Starke County Airport Authority.
During their meeting Monday, it was mentioned no word had been given from the Airport Authority on if they would be willing to report to the council. Pearman entertained a motion to go ahead and approve the budget. A motion was made and seconded. The majority of the council voted in favor with Todd Leinbach opposed. The 2024 budget for the Starke County Airport Authority was approved.
