Starke County Council Approves Transfer of Funds to Highway Department

The Starke County Council heard from Highway Superintendent Dan Dipert during their meeting last week.

Dipert informed the council, the Highway Department was in need of an additional $69,729 for the county’s bridge inspection done by United Consulting. Earlier this year, United Consulting was approved as the lowest bid to inspect all 57 of Starke County’s bridges.

The council discussed transferring the amount needed from three separate funds. Starke County Council President Dave Pearman made a motion to approve the transfer of $69,729 to the highway department from the Construction Inspector Fund, the Construction Inspection Administration Fund and the county’s Health Insurance Fund.

That motion was seconded and the council voted unanimously approving the transfer.
