The Winamac Town Council discussed the town’s trash service during their meeting last week.
Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers told WKVI News, the current trash service contract is scheduled to expire in March of 2024. He stated the town will advertise a five year contract for trash service now in order to allow time for businesses to place their bids.
Zellers stated even though the current contract isn’t up until March of next year, advertising now would allow businesses time to collect bins and place out new ones if the town were to go with a different company than they already have. Once bids are received, Zellers stated the council will make a decision on moving forward after March of next year.
