The City of Knox Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants throughout the city this week.
City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok recently shared that crews will be performing the task starting Monday, October 16 through Friday, October 20.
During this time, motorists are asked to avoid areas where they see crews working. Mayor Estok mentioned the process may result in some temporary discoloration in homeowner’s water. He explained when they start flushing hydrants, iron will be in the water sometimes because it stirs it out. He said to let your faucets run until the color clears.
