The Pulaski County Commissioners discussed deputizing their county attorney during their meeting Monday.
Pulaski County Attorney Kevin Tankersley spoke briefly on being involved with the bonding project for the creation of the building corporation with the commissioners. He stated after discussions with Clerk Treasurer Laura Wheeler, he may be of more service to the project since he is more involved. He stated he found an Indiana code that allows the commissioners to deputize him to be the clerk for that purpose.
He formally asked the commissioners to consider deputizing him to perform the duties of the clerk to the commissioners for all documents pertaining to the building corporation and the bond being sought for the courthouse remodel project.
Commissioner Chuck Mellon entertained a motion to approve deputizing Tankersley. A motion was made and seconded. The commissioners voted unanimously approving the motion.
