The Starke County Commissioners discussed a job title change with the county surveyor during their meeting last week.
Starke County Surveyor Thomas Schouten formally requested the commissioners change the job title of Deputy Clerk to Deputy Surveyor. The commissioners asked if the job title change would also change pay rate or any job description of what is currently titled Deputy Clerk. Schouten explained this would not change the job description of the clerk, just the title.
Starke County Commissioner Mark Gourley stated he would like to have the job description include all other duties assigned as well. He made a motion to approve the job title change along with the added description. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
