The Starke County Commissioners held discussions on paid lunch hours for the Sheriff’s Department during their meeting Monday.
It was noted that many officers are not able to take a lunch break due to being on duty. Currently, they are not paid during the scheduled lunch hour if they don’t take a lunch break. A motion was made to approve the paid lunch hour for those at the Sheriff’s Department. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
